Career Treks and Shadow Days
The Energy Club partners with other UNC Kenan-Flagler Career Clubs to provide students with one or two day visits to companies based around the US. Each visit immerses students in new environments with personalized time for students and companies to interact and evaluate the company and cultural fit early in the career search process.
The Energy Club organizes three treks each year, focused on North Carolina and Washington DC, Houston, and the San Francisco Bay Area. On a typical trek students will spend 3-4 days meeting informally with diverse companies and organizations to learn more about potential internship and full-time opportunities. Treks provide students unparalleled exposure to different business models in the energy space and the opportunity to have frank, off-the-record discussions about industry challenges. Alumni and company-sponsored receptions during treks provide students with additional networking opportunities beyond traditional on-campus recruiting.
