Ed Ahnert

Former President, ExxonMobil Education Foundation

During that period he worked to better align philanthropic initiatives with the corporation’s business objectives, focusing on improving STEM education, environmental conservation and anti-malarial activities. He also led an internal campaign for more comprehensive sustainability reporting by the corporation and was the primary author of its first corporate citizenship report.

He previously served as Finance Manager of Exxon’s oil and gas operations in Australia and as Manager of Finance and Planning for its operations in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Guam. After retiring from ExxonMobil he was appointed Executive in Residence at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business where he taught courses in corporate social responsibility and also served as acting director of the Maguire Energy Institute. From 2007 through 2012 he was a visiting lecturer at the Hong Kong Baptist University School of Business where he taught Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility in the Masters Program in Corporate Governance and Directorship.

Mr. Ahnert holds a BA degree in English Literature from Rice University and a Master of Public Affairs degree in International Relations from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.
